Back to work!

by Wolf and Whistle

As many of you surely know, September is the month where summer ends and we all trundle back to work or University with heavy hearts. No more lazy lay-in mornings, all night parties or sunny holiday frolics (unless you’ve got a late hols booked, if so then lucky you!), it’s back to reality for the most of us.  However, an upside to this period of time is picking a new back-to-work wardrobe for the new season, although sometimes a lack of funds (perhaps you partied too hard this summer!) mean that you can only afford a few signature pieces. To maximise the wears you get out of your new clothes, get creative with your wardrobe. With a few simple details one piece of clothing can be transformed from a daytime work uniform to a dazzling nighttime outfit. I have created a few examples below!

Add some simple, cute and practical accessories to this skirt to dress it down for an everyday outing. Low maintenance ponytails were seen all over the catwalks this Autumn/Winter, and a roll-neck will keep you warm and looking stylish as it gets colder, and ankle boots are a staple that can transition throughout seasons.

For a nighttime look, get decadent! There’s no such thing as too much with this show-stopping outfit. A lace bustier will add some sex appeal, and chandelier earrings and crystal-embellished heels are details that will keep you looking refined. Sumptuous matte red lips finish off the look!

For a look that is perfect for the office pair this jacket with a cute pussy-bow blouse and an on-trend midi circle skirt. Brogue heels keep the look strictly business yet some patterned tights add some modern fun to the mix!

Let your wild, inner rock-goddess out by pairing the tuxedo jacket with dark jewel shades and androgynous sex appeal.  Channel the underwear-as-outwear trend with a daring bodysuit and layer on the silver jewellery for an effortless look. Retro-inspired hats are here to stay this Autumn/Winter, and they’re great for covering up when transitioning from a bad-hair day to a glamorous night!
