Day in the life: W & W's Intern, Patience

by Wolf and Whistle

I start the day with an essential cup of tea and after trawling through my favourite social media sites whilst listening to some rousing loud music (this B-Side Arctic Monkeys track has been my song of the day for the past week) I am awake enough to take a quick shower. I recently bleached my hair platinum blonde which requires a lot of upkeep so silver shampoo by Pro-voke is essential for me to combat brassy locks. A deep conditioner from Aussie keeps its texture from becoming too straw-like.

I usually plan my outfit for the day the night before, as I am never sentient enough to make decent sartorial decisions in the morning! I have decided on my favourite Whistle & Wolf Paradise Print Tea Dress (now in the sale) paired with a great new pair of boots from US brand Born, staple black tights, a black faux-fur gilet I inherited from my stylish Aunt and a beautiful two finger ring from independent British jewellery brand Gilded Lab

Next I apply my make-up. I start with Simple moisturiser and Clinique BB cream as my base as I'm very pale and prone to University-Final-Year stress spots, so I like to keep my complexion quite clean. My favourite make-up necessity is Urban Decay's Naked palette paired with their Eyeshadow Primer Potion, the colours are dazzling yet natural and with the primer my eyeshadow won't budge for the entire day! I don't feel complete without some cat-eye flicks using black liquid eyeliner and one of my favourite make-up tricks is to apply white eyeliner to my lower waterline for a retro, wide-eyed effect. I finish off my look with some cheek-sculpting bronzer from No.7 at Boots and a dash of Illamasqua blush in Thrust

I arrive at the office and after settling down at a desk and checking up on Whistle & Wolf's social media profiles I am soon busy assisting preparations for the Whistle & Wolf and sister company Playful Promises's stalls for upcoming trade shows. I can't help but mentally pick out my next favourite outfit from the racks of exciting new pieces that will be arriving in store throughout the next year!

For lunch I am extremely partial towards sushi, but on rainy grey days it's hard to keep to a healthy schedule so I'll usually snack on some chocolate. Today I am mad for Reeses Pieces! I demolished a packet in under a minute and I don't even feel guilty about it.

After my lunch break I get back to the computer and get to work; I'm typically writing blogs, creating graphics and moderating our various social media pages. I take occasional breaks to pack customer orders and take them all to the post office!

After work I return home for a chilled out evening as I am back to University tomorrow. Watching a feel-good Studio Ghibli movie and working on some illustrations for my course is an ideal end to my day. Of course, I want to look stylish when in lectures as well as at the office so I plan my next days outfit centred around another of my favourite W & W pieces, the polka-dot blouse (also in the sale).
