We have made some impressive but simple chocolate truffles to celebrate the Easter bank holiday! They make a perfect gift for your host or guests this Sunday. Read the recipe below...
White and dark chocolate amaretti and orange truffles.
150g Dark chocolate
150g White chocolate
3 Amaretti biscuits
142ml Double cream
Zest of 1 orange
Break up the chocolate into small pieces (the smaller they are the easier they are to mix with the butter and cream) and put into separate bowls. Split the butter between the two. Heat the double cream in a pan until just starting to boil. Poor the hot cream over the chocolate, try to get it as even as you can. Mix until the ingredients form a smooth mixture. Crush the biscuits (you can use any type, digestives or shortbreads would also work well, and add to the chocolate along with the orange zest. Once all ingredients are combined to your liking, chill in the fridge for at least 4 hours. Go and have a glass of wine... and then...
The mix will now be really hard, I used an ice cream scoop to form little balls. Then you can roll the dark ones in cocoa powder and the white ones can be rolled in icing sugar. Little cases are a really nice way to present them, or you can put them on a nice board or in your favourite tea cup.... They will be loved by all!
Happy Easter everyone!! x
