“Always wear your invisible crown”

by Wolf and Whistle

As we are now in the New Year it’s time to think of a New Year’s Resolution. Try something a little different from the typical “I'm going to start a diet” New Year’s Resolution. So try to be bold, unique and think outside the box with your options, which is why I've come up with a fun and quirky quote “Always wear your invisible crown”, this could mean a number of things, however, one it tends to work well for is showing that you can always make your morning bed hair ‘invisible’ by being creative and thinking of maybe three to four different hair styles which cover up a typical morning tired eyed look. So set yourself a task most mornings before work, uni or college to show creativity in your hairstyles by having a new crown on everyday as a New Year’s Resolution.

Below shows different styles on how you could be creative with hair, this could be keeping it simple or being slightly more experimental by adding something extra into the style you would want to show.

HAIRSTYLE 1: PIN UP BUN

HOW YOU WOULD DO THIS:

  1. Simply pull back your hair and use a hair band to put it in a low pony tail
  2. Then twist the pony tail and wrap it round the hair band
  3. Use hair grips and bands to keep the bun in place
  4. Then hairspray your hair to finish the look then you've got yourself the perfect pin up bun

If you want to be more creative, then try doing a French braid from the middle or side of your head or even both sides which then connects to the bun.

HAIRSTYLE 2: FRENCH AND FISH PLAITS

HOW YOU WOULD DO THIS:

  1. There is only a few steps when creating a French plait. First step is to divide the top of your hair into three sections
  2. Second step is to start plaiting! You simply do this by doing a normal plait but pick up strands of hair on the way down
  3. Once the plait is complete, you can finish off the look by loosening the sides and pulling loose bits of hair down to give it that finishing touch

  1. Fish plaits are slightly more difficult then a normal plait, but they are still doable. To create the perfect fish plait part your hair into two
  2. Start with taking one bit of hair from the left side then place it into the right side, repeat this on the right side and continue until you've reached the end of your hair
  3. To finish pull the fish plait a part slightly, like it is shown below in the picture

HAIRSTYLE 3: WAVY LOCKS

HOW YOU WOULD DO THIS:

  1. Making the perfect wave is one of the simplest hairstyles to do. First of all, you need a pair of hair straighteners
  2. Then, place them on the hair and twist a little to the left or right pulling your hair around the straighteners
  3. When that is complete, let go of the hair in the straighteners and then you've got your wave!

This style also works really well for people who have short hair too!

HAIRSTYLE 4: QUIRKY QUIFF

HOW YOU WOULD DO THIS:

  1.    Having short hair can be a pain sometimes when not knowing what to do with it. An easy hair style which works for short hair is a simple quiff. To do this all you need to do is back comb the front of your hair slightly
  2. Then push the hair back with a hairbrush, add hairspray and hair pins and then it’s complete!
